Did You Know?
Virginia law requires medication aides to obtain 4 hours each year of population-specific training in medication administration in the assisted living facility in which the aide is employed; or a refresher course in medication administration offered by an approved program. Also, these certification must be kept on hand by the Medication Aide for 4 years after it has been obtained. The board conducts random audits and will ask for the refresher certifcate. If one does not have it, action may be taken by the board. Stay compliant and refresh for your renewal today.
